OVERVIEW

Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, Inc. is looking for a detail-oriented, highly organized individual to assist the General Counsel and the Legal Department.  Good organization, list-making and follow-through are critical to this position.  Since much of our outside counsel work is carried out on a pro bono basis, the Assistant will be part of a team that stewards and promotes warm relationships on behalf of the Department with these productive and invaluable legal service providers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

•    Anticipating and facilitating the needs of the General Counsel and lawyers in the department through comprehensive administrative support, including: phone coverage, calendaring regularly occurring meetings as well as one-off requests, including meeting space, teleconference and other technical specifications as necessary; handling e-mail correspondence, letters and files, many of them confidential or legally sensitive; preparing the GC for meetings by anticipating and providing pertinent materials; tracking medium- and longer-term assignments; processing invoices and expenses; helping welcome and supporting a rotating staff of interns and recent law graduates.

•    Preserving and continuing good working relationships with all Lincoln Center staff, the Chair’s and President’s offices, Board of Directors, other Lincoln Center resident organizations, as well as other external contacts.

•    Safeguarding confidential information and materials.

QUALIFICATIONS

•    3+ years administrative experience in a high functioning office.
•    Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
•    Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
•    Excellent follow-up and follow-through skills.
•    Attention to detail, particularly in written correspondence.
•    Ability to work with a friendly, close-knit team.
•    Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet research.
