Accessibility & Guest Services


The Accessibility Intern will be part of the Accessibility and Guest Services team, focused on accessibility programs and planning, including:

• Access Ambassadors, a job training program for students with developmental disabilities, teaching lessons in schools, providing job coaching during shifts, and modeling and training front-of-house skills.
• Planning and administering the Passport to the Arts program for children with disabilities and their families
• Providing administrative support for Lincoln Center Moments, a program for people with dementia and their caregivers, including registration, staffing, working with educators and collecting surveys for research study
• Documenting access projects and contributing editorial content, both online and in print

This paid intern will report to the Assistant Director of Accessibility, and work collaboratively across departments to support accessibility initiatives, including a job training program for teens and young adults with developmental disabilities, and programs for children with disabilities and individuals with dementia. This intern is required to work in the office 2-3 days per week and have flexible weekend and evening hours to staff programs..

The ideal candidate is a current or recent undergraduate student in Education, Museum Studies/Education, Social Work, Disability Studies, or other similar programs. The intern must have demonstrable experience working with people with disabilities and a passion for inclusion and advocacy in the arts. Must have excellent verbal, face-to-face, written communication skills, research skills, and comfort interacting with the public in a pleasant, professional manner.


January through June 2018. Expected work hours will be 20 hours per week. This is a paid internship ($13 per hour).
