DESCRIPTION

This Internship is working on our LC Kids Program with the Manager, Family Programming, and supporting all event production and marketing efforts associated with LC Kids, a growing program for children and families at Lincoln Center. This individual will assist with every aspect of the LC Kids program including producing events, implementing marketing strategies, and maintaining a growing membership program.

This position will also support other members of the Institutional Marketing team, which is responsible for new audience development initiatives, community engagement, and supporting grassroots marketing efforts across Lincoln Center programs.

Specific tasks will include:
• Assisting with planning, producing, and day-of logistics for LC Kids events 
• Helping to facilitate key elements of LC Kids events such as running activities or serving as the membership representative
• Representing Lincoln Center and LC Kids at events
• Updating and maintaining the LC Kids member database
• Researching events and partners to target for grassroots marketing outreach
• Coordinating logistics for events where grassroots marketing efforts will take place (e.g. Lincoln Center performances, street fairs, niche events for target audiences)
• Additional tasks to support the Institutional Marketing team where necessary

By attending meetings both within the team and across departments, the intern will develop an understanding of the broader Institutional Marketing strategy and how to align their efforts with the broader strategy.

This is a great opportunity for an intern interested in gaining experience in every aspect of a new audience development initiative at a major cultural institution.

The marketing department at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts plans and executes the marketing efforts for Lincoln Center programming, audience development, membership acquisition, and institutional clients (e.g. Lincoln Center Education, Tours, etc.)

Lincoln Center programming includes:
Great Performers, White Light Festival, American Songbook, Lincoln Center Festival, Midsummer Night Swing, Lincoln Center Out Of Doors, Mostly Mozart Festival, Live from Lincoln Center, Programming at the David Rubenstein Atrium, LC Kids

 

QUALIFICATIONS

This internship might be right for you if you:

  •  Have demonstrable experience working with people and a passion for inclusion and advocacy in the arts
  •  Are a college student or graduate student currently enrolled this semester
  •  Have experience with event planning
  •  Can bring a unique perspective to this internship and able to work well with others
  •  Excellent verbal, face-to-face, written communication skills, and research skills and are comfortable interacting with the public in a pleasant, professional manner
  •  Are comfortable representing Lincoln Center 
  •  Are highly skilled with MS Office, including MS Word and MS Excel
  •  Are attentive to detail
  •  Are enthusiastic, energetic, and flexible, with a great sense of humor

Interns must be currently enrolled students, recent graduates (May 2017) may apply.

Approximate dates September 2017 to December 2017. Expected work hours will be 20 hours a week, and must be available for evening and weekend events.

This is a paid internship ($11 per hour). School credit is strongly recommended. A letter of support from a school advisor is required.
