Performance Marketing Internship, Summer 2018


Brand and Marketing


The Performance Marketing team at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts plans and executes the marketing efforts for all Lincoln Center programming, brand initiatives, and customer communications including, but not limited to, email and social media. The programs and brands supported by Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts include:

• Midsummer Night Swing
• Lincoln Center Out of Doors
• Mostly Mozart Festival
• Great Performers
• White Light Festival
• American Songbook
• Programming at the David Rubenstein Atrium
• Live from Lincoln Center

Over the summer, interns are fully integrated into all aspects of the Performance Marketing team with an opportunity to learn about and assist with promoting Lincoln Center summer programs, including Midsummer Night Swing, Mostly Mozart Festival, Lincoln Center Out of Doors, and the David Rubenstein Atrium. By attending meetings with various internal Lincoln Center departments and external sales vendors the intern will learn about daily and weekly tasks.


• Monitor inventory of marketing materials (i.e. brochures, signage, digital signage) across the Lincoln Center campus
• Coordinate email and social media marketing trades with partner organizations across New York City
• Promote events across free marketing channels
• Research artists, audiences, and performances in support of digital marketing initiatives
• Assist team members with day-to-day marketing tasks and coordinate projects and activities as requested
• Provide at-event customer service support and email data capture


This internship might be right for you if you are:

• An enrolled undergraduate, graduate student, or recent graduate (December 2017 or later)
• Able to bring your own perspective to the team and the work involved
• Passionate about the performing arts and/or marketing and outreach
• Energetic, able to show initiative, and creativity
• A strong communicator and have strong organizational skills with a keen attention to details
• Comfortable interacting with a broad audience, internal staff, members of the public, and children and able to represent Lincoln Center at public events
• Flexible and with a collaborative attitude
• Able to multi-task and prioritize competing assignments
• Strong Excel skills
• Enthusiastic, energetic, and flexible, with a good sense of humor
• Passionate about inclusion and advocacy in the arts

Potential interns should have flexible hours as there are days of the week that shifts will vary between 9:00 am and 9:00 pm. Lincoln Center will attempt to accommodate all requested schedules and interns will never be required to work more than a standard full-time schedule.

Interns must be current students. Recent graduates (December 2017 or May 2018) will be considered on a case by case basis; however, candidates of all ages are encouraged to apply.

Approximate dates of this internship are June 2018 – August 2018. All internships are paid at $13 per hour. Interns are expected to work 35-40 hours a week for a 12-week period.
