Event Spans Iconic Campus with Performances and Activities from all Constituent Organizations

Who: Melanie Charles, Leslie Fornino, Falu Shah, Christian Dante White, Kristin Lee and Gilles Vonsattel of The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, Chief Dwaine Perry of the Ramapough Lunaape, Cliff Matias and the Redhawk Dancers, members of Fogo Azul NYC, Opera Noire of New York, Plezi Rara, Red Baraat PLUS (led by Sunny Jain), and Step It Up NYC.

 

What: Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts marks the 60th anniversary of the center’s groundbreaking, kicking off the celebration with a free Block Party on Saturday, May 4 from 10:00 am–2:30 pm.


With activities for all ages, the event brings together all of the eleven organizations that comprise Lincoln Center—activating the campus with a range of performances, art-making, film programming, tours, food trucks, and more.


The Block Party culminates in a grand finale on the iconic plaza with more than 135 musicians, conducted by Musical Director Sunny Jain from atop the Revson Fountain.

 

When: Saturday, May 4, 2019
9:00 am – TV crews arrive, pre-performance interviews.
10:00 am – Opening remarks, ceremony, and land acknowledgement.
10:45 am – 2:30 pm – Indoor and outdoor performances throughout the day.
1:30 pm – Grand finale.
