Grammy-winning, Brooklyn-based vocal octet Roomful of Teeth embraces vocal traditions from around the world, including folk traditions such as Tuvan and Inuit throat singing, Korean p’ansori, and Georgian singing. The ensemble has become a leading incubator for new a cappella music, and has collaborated with contemporary composers who work in both classical and contemporary forms. This program will feature a New York premiere Lincoln Center commission by indie folk artist Sam Amidon and the 2013 Pulitzer Prize-winning Partita for 8 Voices by composer and group member Caroline Shaw.
