Calidore String Quartet

Mozart: Divertimento in F major, K.138

Caroline Shaw: Entr’acte

Mendelssohn: String Quartet No. 2 in A minor, Op. 13

The Calidore String Quartet was founded only a few years ago by four young Artist Diploma candidates at the Colburn Conservatory of Music in Los Angeles, but it has already found great success, including being named ensemble-in-residence at Stony Brook University this fall. It has also been featured as Young Artist-in-Residence at American Public Media’s Performance Today show, captured top prizes at the ARG Munich International String Quartet Competition, and collaborated with such classical music greats as Joshua Bell and Menahem Pressler, among others. Their artistry prompted La Presse (Montreal) to write, “Were already in the presence of a great quartet.” The ensemble kicks off the new, free, four concert string quartet series Complimentary Classical.
